Why Adopt?
Some people will tell you that “rescue is the best breed” and we agree. The Humane Society of the United States estimates that approximately 3-4 million are euthanized in animal shelters every year in the United States. Adopting a rescued pet helps make space for another animal in a shelter, who might be put to death due to lack of kennel space, it discourages pet stores and backyard breeders from pumping out so many animals, many of whom are unhealthy and nearly all come from a life of neglect, and of course, brings joy not only to you and your family but to your rescue.
There is nothing quite like the gratitude of a dog who has suffered abuse, neglect, cold, hunger or fear, when they are given a soft bed, a gentle touch, a toy of their own and love.
Adopting a pet from a rescue can help you find the right pet without the fear of ending up with a dog who might be more than you can handle. When we rescue a dog we learn about it’s temperament and behaviour and can help you understand which dog is the right match for your home.
Many rescues, including Kinder4Rescue, have a variety of purebred dogs at any given time, so the purist can still find their special someone without high breeder fees or puppy mills.
Hear the cry, rescue don’t buy!
